This game was programmed around 1994 or 1995, only one to two years before KE-Soft left the Atari scene. Kemal did the first versions in TB XL (and compiled them), later Peter Dell (also known as JAC!) even started an assembler version. None of these two versions were ever finished.
Think there were also unfinished versions of Donald 2 (KE), Ponpoko (KE) and Master of the Dungeon (Thimo Graef), as well as other unfinished projects (some were not started programming at all, for some only plans and ideas were drawn to paper). Kemal said (or better wrote in ZONG magazine) that he would only finish one of these projects, if a) the actual game "The Brundles" sells much better and b) if there are enough pre-orders for these games. Looks like none of his demands were fullfilled and so...
Shortly before leaving the Atari scene, KE-Soft sold all his titles he had left, even developer disks and unfinished stuff. Luckily a friend of mine grabbed some developer and unfinished stuff (for money of course!) and thats where I found these versions of Time Zone (which I also sent to Fandal and others)... -Andreas Koch. |
