Well,
in the early nineties AMC-Verlag (thats where Secret Games belongs to) did not have much to publish for the A8. The only things they got were some simple + cheap tape programs like Parsec XL and Ballcracker, which they converted + released on diskette, just to have some new A8 titles...

Many Atarians complained about this (especially, since the level-editor of Ball-Cracker could save self-created levels only to tape!), but AMC-Verlag and its chief Armin Stuermer could not change it. The alternative would have been to release nothing at all or to re-package their older titles and release them again (which they did with the Happy-Set)...

But still, Parsec XL is a really bad and boring game, maybe the author played it on a TI-99 and this was his first program for the A8...?!?

Why would somebody convert a ten-year-old TI-99 game to the XL? They did a shoddy job, and the game was dated when they started.
