Letter to Page 6 magazine i recal well.Coder said he'd completed a title screen for English Software and been paidfor his work, but game was then sold onto Mastertronic and reappeared as Gun Law.He list's A8 Commando, Elite (Unreleased) on his C.V as well. |

Completely agree with Jonny's comments. You'll suffer some very cheap deaths due to the lack of diagonal movement and it's infuriating being sent to the start of the level each time. If you're looking for some run and gun action I'd recommend you play Los Angeles Swat instead! |

As the description above suggests, there's evidence that this was originally meant to be a conversion of "Commando". Someone writing to Page 6 magazine said that they'd been paid to do a title picture for Commando by English Software, who were writing the game on Elite's behalf (Elite had the home license IIRC).
And the loading screen on Gun Law has the same font and appearance as English's other games. Chances are (as the letter suggested) they changed enough of the graphics etc. to sell this *without* the license. |

I vaguely remember this game, all i remeber is that it was bad, so terribly hard you just did not want to play! |

A weak attempt at doing 'Commando' on the 8-bit. A lack of diagonal movement, ponds that blocked bullets and having to restart the level each time you lose a life relegates this one to near the bottom of the pile. |

Probably one of the first games i bought for the machine, not bad but a bit like a dodgy commando ripoff... |
