It was actually the ST version of the game which won the ST Programming competition. I should have picked up a prize of $4000 which was a lot of money to a student but after 3 months of international phone calls and reassurances that the cheque was in the post the magazine went bankrupt.
Analog also published the 8-bit version here.
Both were later published by Bug Byte so I picked up a few hundred quid from it in the end.

This is the original version of the game later enhanced for commercial release via Bug Byte as "Missing... One Droid". Apparently Paul Lay entered it into a competition, but Analog went bankrupt before he got the prize money(!)
