The spring 1985 SSI catalog mentions a "305 Computer Baseball TEAMS" 5-disk set from CB Enterprises, with every pennant winner from 1900 to 1979. Does anybody have THAT??? |

CGW's baseball game roundup in issue 5.3 lists "Computer Baseball" as "ancient" but still an "All-Star program" that "remains one of the best on the market." The article states that the game was from 1981, but mentions a 2.0 version coming soon...maybe that's why it's listed as 1984 here.
The reviewer gives it high marks for realism, defensive/offensive strategy options, and the compilation of stats. Low marks for the graphics and the intelligence of "Casey," the computer manager.
To modern eyes it's extremely slow. The graphics are mostly a redefined character set (with a P/M ball). To see the computer play itself choose "Demonstration Game" from the menu (but prepared to wait awhile before it gets started). |

Many thanks to HOMESOFT for converting the original game to ATR format. |
