Andreas and Harold wrote a few high quality Atari games published as a game collection diskette by AMC-SOFT GERMANY. I recommend checking out 3D-Pac.
A simple Breakout clone but very nicely done.
Easy option starts at level 1. Normal begins at level 5 for a more immediate challenge.
They also like to show of tech with a nice digital music intro.
