                             ##################
                             ## INTRODUCTION ##
                             ##################

        * For a long time, Skuiskie Island was an pleasant tropical island,
and some graceful beings there lived, they were done by a natural lover
genetic scientist. These beings, called Skuiskies Speeskies Skeeskies
Peeskies put their name to this beautiful island.

        * These sympathelic and inoffensive beings, lived in harmony on this
island for fifty years, sadly, the scientist who created them died a short
time after this beings could do things by themselves. However he had got
two children who go on looking after them, studying them, etc... The latest
studies were specially excellent... they discovered some important things
about them, for instance, how they were twelve times stronger and more
intelligents than a full grow human being... this ought not to be a problem
since they were some peaceable being, incapable to hurt, and they used
their inteligence only for creative purposes. But besides, they also
discovered that, putting them in a special chemical solution, they could be
hypnoticed with a big facility, but once they have been hipnotizer, it was
impossible returning them to their normal state. Other studies showed that
they could be destroyed by a gas mixture, but who would want to destroy
such marvellous beings ?

        * The show up emerged when it's been legalized the entry to the
land to aliens, these others beings were carried from the space by an
astronaut who said that the last speciments founded in a Saturn colony...
They were the only aliens life known at the moment. These aliens did not
look violents, or at least people thought it so they did not know weapons,
and never fell ill. However, these beings were maturing a devilish idea...
they were very intelligent and they helped the brothers in the Skuiskie
Island, and they got know the secret that the brothers rept so carefully
for the love of the Skuiskies.

        * The idea of the aliens was so simple than efficient... they only
had to take a Skuiskie, and preparate it for forcing the others to invade
the land for them, and after, destroy them. They have worked very hard by
night for two years, hidden inside the `Volcan Alto`. After these two years
they obtein convert many Skuiskies, forcing them to create robots that
worked for them, and creating spying systems with others Skuiskies
themselves, or creating robots similars to the `Volcan Alto` big rocks... at
least the Skuiskies became the island owners.

        * The brothers decided to evacuate the non converted Skuiskies to a
safety place, and they conclued that there was one only way, a hard way for
them, for ending with this invasion: destroying the island, and then, the non
converted Skuiskies could reconstruct it and to find a vaccine for this
conversion. So, the brothers made a new weapon to destroy them in their
laboratory hidden under the helicopter post, the only place did unknow to the
invaders.

                                ## THE GAME ##
                                ##############

        * Once you`ve load it, after the program presentation, the screen
shows the main menu with several options :

        1) Beginning for one player: Only one player, with one Joystick in the
Joystick port controls one of the brothers.

        2) Beginning team mode: Two players at the same time play with two
Joystick in both ports, controlling the both brothers.

        3) Credits: Shows credits and general greeatings. For more information
over the credits wait a few seconds during the main menu, to return to the
main menu, wait a few of seconds or press SPACE key.

        4) Desktop: Abort the program and return to the graphic manager.

        * Controls: Use the Joystick to move yourself from left to right, to
go upstairs (to go down the platform throw yourself from the edge) to shot
gas bubbles, etc...

        * To pause the game push `P` in any time, and then `Space` to
continue.

        * Press `F10` to swap between 50Hz and 60Hz monitor.

        * In the team mode, I suggest a special care for shooting: if you
push a Skuiskie against other player, this will be destroyed.

        * Screen: Upside it shows the score of both players, and the day high
score. The actual player score will flash in every moment.
Lower side it shows the life and the time. The colours lives
correspond to the colours player. And if the time ends, both players will lost
one life.

        * Levels: The game has four zones, and each troubled zone has four
rounds. To fly toward another zone you have to overcome the four rounds. When
you finish the fourth zone you`ll could see the curious outcome.

        * Legends: The game legends are available in Spanish and English.
Push the language you choose on the screen.

                                ## THE GAME ##
                                ##############

        * The game was been developed in the last months by Bit Culture for
ATARI ST version, But it waits a next version for IBM PC and Compatible.
I only usually write programs for ATARI STE with a minimun of 1Mb of memory,
full using of the Blitter chip, DMA sound stereo, 4096 colour fades, etc...
but POP! only need a ATARI STfm with 512k or over (the game have a special
introduction for STE with stereo sound, but I am not sure it runs under
Falcon platforms). For writing the game I`d used an ATARI STE with 1Mb.

        * The full code, the graphics, the sound, come from the concept, the
levels, (minus two or three that Hugo desing them) some programs used for the
game development have writing by me!. But the game would`n never result if
I`d not had the help of some persons, and it`s why I thank to Hugo de Jesus
help in the Skuiskies history, in his essential morale support in every
difficult moments, in these `littles games` we played to prove the game, in
these importants decisions that I had to take not only of the game (You know
what I mean) in his objectives critics of the game... and if he didn`t done
it, the game would not be what it is. I also thanks David Monje technical
assistance in the programming, and I hope he`ll get to do the PC version
soon, I thanks the last program critics of Javier Bodoque (Paco Pepe) the
Raphael Pedragosa support, and I hope he decides to program an AMIGA version
soon. Greetings for Maria Jose and Maria Bego¤a Prieto for the English
translation.

        * I only hope to thank you, dear user, that if you like the program,
you think it`s good or you enjoy it, you remember that the game is 100%
MACHINE CODE, that I`ve needed hours and hours for make the graphics...
and for Bit Culture could develop more and better programs, for more
platforms (I hope soon to begin to write programs for Falcon and Macintosh)
and better for ATARI,need you register (only 800 pts an Spain or œ4.00 in the
rest of countries) Any way if you don`t do it !Don`t erase it! I only ask you
for copying this game for all yours friends, though you don`t like it, to
improve its diffusion (the packed code doesn`t almost use space). POP! is
Shareware, send your register (please, tell us where give you your
copy... a DP library, magazine, etc...) or your game doubts with your adress
