GALACTIC.SCK, HUNTING.SCK, and RIVER.SCK were all designed and
illustrated by my friend Juergen Reichenwallner of Bavaria,
Germany. All three of these shoot-'em-ups require any ST/STe in
low resolution and a joystick in the joystick port (not the
mouseport).
Juergen used a special game-designer program to create these
games. This program requires a special disk set-up, as follows:
EDITFILE (folder)
GALACTIC.ALL
HUNTING.ALL
RIVER.ALL
GALACTIC.PC1
HUNTING.PC1
RIVER.PC1
LIBRARY.SFX
(root directory)
GALACTIC.SCK
HUNTING.SCK
RIVER.SCK
RUNGAME.PRG
LOGO.PC1
DESKTOP.INF
Set up the root directory and folder files on a floppy disk
exactly as outlined above. Then boot your computer from Drive A.
Double-click on the .SCK file of choice and it will automatically
load and run.
The files deARC to a size that will not fit on a single-sided
drive. If your Drive A is single-sided, set up three individual
disks, making sure to place related game files on their own disk.
For example, to create a disk with only the HUNTING game on it,
you'd set up the directory this way:
EDITFILE (folder)
HUNTING.ALL
HUNTING.PC1
LIBRARY.SFX
(root directory)
DESKTOP.INF
HUNTING.SCK
LOGO.PC1
RUNGAME.PRG
Although these are all scrolling shoot-'em-ups, each has a
separate and distinct theme. GALACTIC concerns space battles,
HUNTING is a Duck Hunt clone, and RIVER is a rescue mission with
a military theme. Hope you enjoy them!
