The Arena Of Death - the arcade / strategy game of the future

Written by Ben Gould & released into the Public's Domain although copyright
is reserved on both the source and the executable code, with one exception
the introduction music (for users with 1 megabyte or more memory only) was
composed and preformed by Jean Michel Jarre and sampled by Tufty - in its
origional form it was called EQUINOXE.SPL and ran at 9khz on STOS Maestro.

You use this software entirely at your own risk, although it shouldn't
damage your computer, or any peripherals connected to it.

I don't know whether this will work on an STE, the patch supplied by
Mandarin only effects the interpreter - I have supplied a source version of
this program for those people with STOS, STOS Maestro and STOS compiler
and, if they are lucky, an STE.

This program is colour only, and requires a 1 meg disk drive. It requires
TOS on ROM and at least a « meg of memory. If you have more memory then you
are treated by Equinoxe 5 on loading.

¯¯¯Scenario®®®
It was a cold summers' morning. The birds were shivering in the trees,
some of them shivered so much that they fell over. A lone programmer in a land
of ice decided to program a two-player-blow-the-bits-off-your-opponant type of
game.
The game invloved flying around a space landscape firing projectiles at
each other and then collecting points. The points would then be use to buy more
weaponary, sheilds and speed when the round had finished. As one thing lead to
another, people found that their ships became progressively better and better
until....
Then out of the blue came a space ship, and another, and another, hell
bent on nothing but the entire annhialation of the entire human race. These
spacecraft, however, were from a five dimensional world where the dimensions
were - much to our surprise - length, breadth, time, nasal fluids and broccili.
Thus these ships had problems in going in any direction other than straight.
The question is, do you gang up on the aliens or shoot yourselves.....
