Other versions with a different title: Entobed, Entombed.
This is the first version of Amaze, a maze routine written by Paul Allen Newell that (after many following versions) was eventually used in the game Entombed from U.S. Games.
According to Newell: 'It was from this version that I and others determined that the best game possibility was a 'cat-and-mouse' with one player controlling the vertical scrolling of the maze and only able to move horizontally while the other player had full movement over the maze but at the whim of the first players’s maze scrolling. I knew it would need a lot of refinement but thought this was the best shot given the limited amount of space in the 4K cartridge for any more code.' |
