love the sight. the 2600 was the first system i had. i also had a lynx, it was way ahead of its time. i still have all my 2600 and the games. tryed to use it and it still works. my lynx broke but i still have batman returns. gust downloaded the rom zip now to find a emu for my nds to run them. keep up the good work. p.s. masters of the universe and e.t. rocks! ;)

In the 1980s my rock band "Circus of Legends" installed 4 ATARI 2600's on our Tour bus. We have a new bus today but we still have 3 out of 4 ATARIs on our bus and a Cabinet FULL of Games.

People with a historical perspective --- are good people. Yes, I am the same Norman T. Thornton that programmed Bomby (the 1k contest winner in 1988 or so) in 6502 Assembly Language. Ah, now if only there were an archived for all the other software I've developed for the corporate world. Interesting how many coders of the past have made their way to this site. Just wanted to say thanks! I've been looking for the atari st compare ad (the one with the waterfall on the screen made with neochrome) for the longest time. It's the ad I drooled over till i got my 520st! them days are gone! :-(

Just stumbled across this site and was amazed to find two games here that I wrote back in the 1980's, The Amulet and Blok-Head. I barely remember writing Blok-Head at all, but The Amulet was a labour of love and took me several years to complete. It's nice to see it still available, I might even have a play with it myself. Keep up the good work.

An old Atari User, and reseller here in Winnipeg. Started with the 2600 game machine, then to 400, then advanced to 800, then to 520ST. Had quite a library of old cartridges, tapes, and diskette programs - but, and this I am sorry to say, didn't seem to have a market, so I junked much of the product. Still have an original PAC-MAN in sealed package #CXL4200, for the 400/800 machine; and also a sealed carton DEFENDER #CX2609. Stickers on boxes are the red N, which I think means for North America. Published a newsletter called Ad Astra, for the Atari Microcomputer Network (radio amateur group), and did this for about 8-1/2 years. Sure miss those old days! As one of those old old veterans of the tape drive and Assembler battlefield in the 1980's, i was touched to find a site like this where all those 'gems' are still alive and so phantastically organized. I owned an Atari 800XL from when I was 11 years old (1984) and then an Atari ST later. Interested in old games from my Childhood. I used to own several games that are currently missing on this site, will have to see if my parents still have the original cassettes/disks.

1st visit. My intro to computing was via a 400 I won playing Asteroids in a tournament at Penn Square Mall. It changed my life, and I owe my ability to write concise, clean PLC code to my experiences as a 14 year old creating videogames for the neighborhood kids. Too bad we don't have a modern version of the old system available with today's speed, memory and permanent storage. Imagine how much machine code you could run during the VBI with a 2.0Ghz processor! I spent many hours waiting for the old tape drive to load my latest creations into 16K of ram. Today I wait about the same amount of time with one hand tied to a mouse watching the hourglass spin on my Windoze XP machine. I was surprised to see there are still people who are interested in atarimania...I was simply googling Atascii for chits and giggles...

First visit here. As an alltime Atari addict, I love to see sites like these. Hopefully all information will be available soon. Keep up the good work!
