Different versions may exist. The title was first mentioned in computer magazines under the name of Life Insurance Planning in mid-1984 but was also released in late 1985 in the Plan Ahead series as part of an integrated module of three programs which could either be purchased separately or as a bundle. Note that The Software Encyclopedia - 1985-86 lists June 1983 as the initial date.
