Clone of an 1980s Arcade game "Star Castle" by Cinematronic (unrelated to "star castle" on atarimania)
The arcade drew using a vector CRT like asteroids and had a three color transparency overlay creating the color effect seen here in Star Island.
This Stedek version could've made a great engine for asteroids. I like it because it resembles Yars' Revenge the model 2600 game. Actually Yars' Revenge was made to clone the gameplay of Star Castle so Star Island too is like what inspired Y.R. not the other way around.

Simple, repetitive fun and well programmed. The computer is no slouch in trying to blast you. Stedek didnt make to many games, but what they did was well done. Try their version of galaxian, It puts atari's to shame. |
| A fairly straightforward clone of the arcade game, Star Castle. All you do (next to dodging enemy fire and projectiles)is shoot the protective outer shield to penetrate and hit the inner ship so you have even more ships to play this game over and over and over... |
