This version of Dig Dug appeared on Datasoft/U.S. Gold's "Arcade Classics" compilation. Unfortunately, despite the improvements in this rewrite, it was still shown up by "Mr. Do"- a similar digging-type game, but with far better graphics, sound and playability. Basically, if you like Dig Dug, you'll *love* Mr. Do!

Other versions with the same title:

Atari (USA), US Gold.

Essentially the same as Atari's updated cartridge version (which itself is the 5200 release). The two differences in the Datasoft version are the additional DATASOFT PRESENTS intro and the missing Namco and Atari copyrights on the selection screen.

The original 1982 release can be found here.

"How does your garden grow? With Pookas and Frygars and tunnels and rocks and vegetables all in a row." The poem may not have a lot of literary merit nor will it, probably, win the Nobel... [more]
