After 30+ years, I finally decided to play the whole thing through instead of piecemeal. Even as a fairly knowledgeable Beatles fan, I did find some of the questions/clues a little tricky at times due to the way they're phrased/structured. Fortunately, with an emulator you can save your progress as you go along because if you need a hint, you won't necessarily get one (the game responds with a "Sorry"). However, the good thing is that it's a random thing and you can try again after you reload your saved progress.
The game does have flaws. One, all the questions are asked in the same exact order every time, whether if you play all 100 from beginning to end, or by category! There's also a couple of spelling errors on the answers end that almost makes it difficult to get a perfect score. Gibraltar is misspelled as "Gibralter" for the "Two Virgins wedding" question. That one had me stumped even though I had the right answer, all because of the misspelling! The other is for "The Plastic Lady" question. The answer, of course, is "Polythene Pam." However, the game says the answer has two words and fifteen letters. Despite my attempt to misspell the variants of Polythene (and its original "polyethylene" spelling), I can't seem to get the "right" answer. So I'm stuck at 9,900 points out of possible 10,000. |
