Fantastic! I never imagined this humble computer could recreate the arcade Time Pilot so perfectly, yet here it is. The zoomed-in graphics enable perfect detail on sprites and objects, the controls are buttery smooth, and the challenge is always high. I cannot recommend this indie homebrew title enough.

Truly excellent port, very faithful to the arcade game (in fact in some ways superior, since the arcade one was of course designed to separate you from your money with short difficult runs for each quarter). The only problem is that the visible playing field is far too small...an issue that plagues several such games on the A8 platforms (Millipede being another example, albeit another fabulous port).

Monk, it is Amazing, isn't it. i was gifted a cart version with instructions from one of the developers 2 years ago and its my most prizes Atari 8bit possession. It's a masterpiece that shows how great an XEGS game could have been and why the system *could* have compete directly with the NES and C64 for 8bit supremacy. It plays is plays on a 64K machine.

This game is AMAZING!
Why didn't anyone tell me that one of my very favorite Arcade, C16, C64, etc. games have been converted to a beloved Atari system?
And it works with my real Atari 800 XL immediately, and it's in XEX format, too?
What a heavenly release, this is the first time I ever felt an urge to send money to someone. I wish I somehow could.
The gameplay is so good, it's as close to arcade feel as you can get - the explosions are juicy, the graphics flow smoothly and have even a parallel effect (usually missing from home ports)!
Time Pilot is the only game I sometimes bother playing on my DS when I am adventuring somewhere in the world - it's so easy 'n quick to start playing, the gameplay is tight and yet so deep, because you can go through different time zones and everything - and the sound effects are marvellous.
If one were to nitpick - and I really mean that, this game doesn't deserve any criticism, because someone really polished it lovingly - the resolution is a bit low, so it feels like you're playing a zoomed-in version, and sprites are consequently HUGE (in my big CRT television, they're monsters), and some of the soundworld isn't maybe optimal.
But this beats the oddly mediocre C64-version, and is at least as much fun to play as the excellent C16-version (although it's called 'Space Pilot') that I just played today on my Commodore 16 (no emulation).
I just wondered if this game or a variant exists that I could play on my Atari 800XL, but I wasn't prepared to be this positively surprised!
Kudos to people that created this little marvel, I can't give enough thumbs up! Thank you SO MUCH for adding more life to my Atari systems!
This port is about as marvellous and miraculous as Thomas Kite's C64-port of "Scramble"

And both games really even go BEYOND what could be reasonably expected - amazing ports, EXCELLENT games, and wonderful releases, I can't praise both of these enough.
Time Pilot for the Atari - a heavenly release, I urge anyone to play this right now!
