Incredible presentation with great music & graphics, but the gameplay falls a bit flat. The pieces spawn in random orientations for some reason, the entire upper border of the playfield causes game over instead of just where the piece spawns, and the biggest issue is that there is no DAS (delayed auto-shift, like when you hold a key on a keyboard) when you hold a direction.

Pretty okay version of Tetris. Unfortunately no music, only minimal sounds. It reminds me a lot of the original MS-DOS version by Vadim Gerasimov.

The only bad thing about this one is, that I neither had it back in the day nor have I stumbled upon it sooner.. Quite a fun game.

From issue #47 (December 1990 / January 1991) of New Atari User.
- Skull Island2026-07-15
I wrote this game back in the day on a 130XE. I've since recreated it to run online, with additional graphics. https://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/skull_island/ Enjoy-

Just found the original floppy disk on eBay but at first only got scrambled screen until I held down the Option key during the boot up process. Now, game runs fine on my stock XEGS.
- Waterloo II2026-07-01
This needs a 1050XL drive or newer to read the disk since it's a high density format. Also - does anyone know where to find the manual?
- Mule Wars2026-06-28
In the game, the first row indicates the territories owned, the second the number of Mules owned, but what does the third row of information represent?
- Joe Blade II2026-06-24
charliechaplin -> Not necessarily :-) It's just that numbers "1" and "2" look very much alike (so quite a lot of focus goes into just recognizing the two apart from each other) and also, the trigger action is as -if delayed, sometimes. But once you know WHAT to do in each subgame, it's easy to beat each. Check the last two "TAPE" PNG images here, they tell exactly what to do.

Ken here, the games creator, I wanted to straighten a few things up about Midas Maze. 1 , glad people loved playin this. 2, seen a nice review that got one thing wrong. Midas Maze was written in 8 months, I studied progammin 3 years before I attempted to make this game. but glad he loved my game.made my day. 4 the game was inspired by the games Thief and Super pacman, was a fan of both games. 5 have a great day. toodles.
