Simon Hunt's Diamonds is a "dirt and boulders" game with a few interesting twists... and one that I actually played long before I encountered Dig Dug for the first time.

Diamonds is an excellent game, gets really intense. To climb up you need to stay in your original tunnels or dig a new one with earth (or something solid) either side.
Just reading Fandal's blog you'll need to copy and paste the text into google translate etc unless you're fluent in Czech ... anyway the Atari Master has found a couple of easter eggs in Diamonds and Dan Strikes Back:
Himself immortalized in a similar way also another programmer of the golden eighties, namely Simon Hunt in his gamesce Diamonds, again in 1983. The title screen from the keyboard nabušte "simonhunt" and to play out the music, the kind of acknowledgments author Philip Morris, which I hope does not mean that Simon Hunt during encoding Diamonds nevykouřil all Cuban tobacco plantations. But everything is possible. Who knows.
What is clear is that the insertion Hunt Easter eggs into their products obviously pleased, because when in his next game Dan Strikes Back tilts the cover of "kateboxley" runs at you very similar to the egg. This time, with the dedication of a person mentioned games author probably close. The rest of the story apparently knows only Mr Hunt.

There seem to be strange rules for when you can and cannot climb upward; I think it depends on whether you're digging a new isolated shaft or a shaft alongside a spot you've already dug into...in the second case, you'll keep falling down. I think.
