My first computer was an Atari 800 that I purchased from the Adventure International computer store in Fern Park Florida in 1981. Adventureland was one of the games I got with the machine. At that time, it only came on cassette tape. I spent many hours playing Scott Adams Adventure Games and Star Raiders.

| Actually, Adventureland is two or three years newer than Zork. |
| Worth a special mention as this was one of the first text adventures of its kind, paving the way for Zork a couple of years later. Hard to explain to people today, the interactive text games of the era depended on one's imagination to fill in the graphics and sound yourself, and didn't feel limited at all while playing them. |
