Instructions - Roland MT32 Editor

Thank you for purchasing this program.

New Features in Version 1.3 that are NOT in the manual:

* Pressing the numbers 1-8 (on the main keyboard, not on the numeric keypad)
will set which part # on the MT-32 will receive the edits that you make.
Pressing the number 0 will make the program NOT send any edits, for faster
    editing.

* Some synthesizers incorrectly send the exclusive messages back to the
computer, causing a MIDI loop. In Version 1.3, this loop will not cause
    the ST to hang up.

* This disk includes a new program, 'MT_SYS.ACX' which is a desk accessory
that allows you to edit only the system area in the MT-32. It also allows
you to load, send, and save banks of MT-32 data. This accessory is mainly
for use for those using SMPTE-Track from Hybrid Arts. SMPTE-Track does not
allow for large desk accessories to be loaded, like the full MT_EDIT.ACC.

rename it to 'MT_SYS.ACC' to use it, and remember to copy its resource
    file, 'MT_SYS.RSC' along with it.

< 'MT_SYS.ACC' and 'MT_SEND.ACC' are NOT copy protected, and are in the
Public Domain. [Do not Sell] >

note: 'MT_EDIT.ACC' and 'MT_EDIT.PRG' ARE copy protected, and are
definitely NOT in the Public Domain.

< Hybrid Arts is coming out with a program called 'TOP-DOWN' (or similiar name)
that will allow large desk accessories to be loaded in with SMPTE-Track.
They will also be coming out with a program switcher that could be useful.>

* The 'Key Shift', 'Fine Tune', and 'Bender Range' parameters on the 'EDIT
DRUMS' page are now not available, since they were deleted from the MT-32's
    MIDI implementation chart.

* Pressing the numbers 0-9 on the numeric keypad send out test notes to the
current part. Holding the key down (or repeating it rapidly) lengthens the
    test note.

* The PCM wave names have been re-named in Version 1.3 to match those given
    by Roland.

* The 'SYSTEM SETUP' page now shows you the sum of your partial reserve
settings, and will not let you allocate more than 32 partials.

ADDITIONAL HELP FOR STORING PATCHES

When you want to store an original patch with an original timbre, place the
timbre into the slot that you want it to be in (With the LIST TIMBRES page) and
THEN store the patch into its slot (With the LIST PATCHES page).

NOTE: Remember that the front dial on the MT-32 can only select the PRESET
TIMBRES. You must send a program change via MIDI to access your own patches.

Fill out the enclosed registration form to get information about new updates,
sounds, etc.

We hope you enjoy our product.
