DRIVER DISK CONTENTS

   The SLM804 Printer Driver for GDOS disk set contains  the
   following  program and data files.  If you currently have
   Atari GDOS Release  1.0,  you  need  only  replace  files
   labeled "mod".

MINIMUM SYSTEM CONFIGURATION

   The minimum system configuration  includes  an  Atari  ST
   with  at  least 2 megabytes of RAM, an Atari SLM804 Laser
   Printer, and an optional hard disk.






ANNOTATED ASSIGN.SYS CONTENTS

   The following is an annotated skeleton of the  ASSIGN.SYS
   file  found  on the SLM804 GDOS Driver disk.  Please note
   that screen and metafile fonts are not  included  on  the
   font  disks (contact your application software vendor for
   an upgrade).

GDOS DRIVER USAGE

   The GDOS.PRG file should be in the AUTO  folder  and  the
   ASSIGN.SYS  file  should  be in your root directory.  The
   directory defined in the path name within your ASSIGN.SYS
   file  should  contain all screen, meta, and printer fonts
   as well as all device drivers (eg SLM804.SYS).

(1)  If an SLM804 Laser Printer is connected to the ST  Hard
     Disk  (DMA bus) port, then the printer must be powered-
     on in order for  floppy  or  hard  disk  operations  to
     occur.

(2)  For the best print results on an SLM804 Laser  Printer,
     set  up  the application software to maintain a minimum
     half-inch left and right page margin.
