Instructions - Poong

Hi everybody

You are now in possession of a preview of our
Falcon game :

                Poong

Poon is a pong-like (just don't notice...)
which can be played up to 8 players, none the less !

This version doesn't have a ball !! Don't scream abuse !
It's nothing but a teaser to help you hold until the official
release.

Before all, notice you need an Atari Falcon with :

- At least 2 meg of ram
- A RGB-TV screen
- A keyboard (yes, you need it)
- If you have joysticks and/or joypads, it's time to dust-clean
them.

Here you have a background mosaic made with a cat photo (Thanks
to Aurore for the photo of Chubaca, his cat), this background
can be changed using a .TRP (Escape paint) picture, 640*250 true color.
This won't probably be the definitve size of the picture as only
220 lines are actually used for the playfield.
At the bottom, team names and scores should be displayed (not the
score at the moment).

So don't hesitate to use your own scans, photos, it's more fun
to play with yours.
If you want to give a try with the background, you have to save it
in this format and size, that is 640*250 NTC. Size of the file is
checked, it must be 320008 bytes long. Name of the file is 'BACK.TRP'

Sprites (bats and ball) will be using the same format, so Falcon owners,
don't miss having a copy of Escape paint, now !

Ok, on this preview, you could use :

- normal joysticks
- centronics port connected joysticks
- Jagpads (yep !)
- keyboard (up and down arrows and 8 and 2 on numeric keypad)

In the final version, you'll be able to configure keys.

The game will be organized in team with just how many user you want in
(from 1 to 4), that could lead to funny match.

There will be two versions, a normal one and a special one with bonus, malus,
and other stuff.

And there will be an IA for lonely players (hi Kuk) !

And a surprise option, thanks to Xerus (Arcadia crew) for the idea.

I'll do my best to make the game run on a 1Meg Falcon, allowing everyone
to be able to play it.

Intro is finished at 99% (i have to add 5 lines of code !), main menu
to 70% (some routs are not quite compatible between each other), Azrael
and I (GT Turbo) are working on the game at the very moment.
