So why yet another Pacman clone, All I can say is play it before you
judge it, There are a few differences, First of all the play area is
rather larger than the normal one screen affair,Two players are allowed
on the screen at the same time, Either you v a Friend ( If uou have any )
or You v Computer,

There are no Ghosts aimlessly running around, Instead there are Death
Blocks, These will appear and disappear throughout the level, Not so
easy to avoid due to the speed you travel and the play area in view,

You will find some Question marks around the play area, Landing on
one of these will more than likely give you some sort of BONUS, But
there is also a possibility that something nasty will happen to you, It
is set randomly with a good BONUS being 3/1 in your favour,
Some BONUS squares give you a choice, For example it may ask you
whether you want a life or to take a life from the other player,
But some dont give you any choice , Such as GAIN A LIFE, GAIN 300pts
LOSE 300pts or JOYSTICK SWAP, The latter will reverse your controls for
a short period of time and no warning will be given when they are
returning to normal, If you happen to get JOYSTICK SWAP a second time
then it will simply reset the timer to nought rather than swap them back
to normal,
You can gain extra lives throughout the game, But there is a limit of
9 lives, So if you already have nine and get one of the choice bonuses
it will hardly be worth choosing gain a life, Will it!

There is a Time limit for each level, Nothing bad will happen if the
level is not cleared in time, But whoever does clear the area first
( this will be deemed the player who lands on the last spot ) they will
recieve a 10000 pt Bonus,

Player one always uses the Top map and player two or the Computer
uses the lower map, Both maps are the same play area,

At the end of each level, Either at time out or when the last spot
has been eaten, You will then see a score table with that rounds score
added to your total score, The high score table is also on this screen,
If you do manage a high score then you will be prompted to enter your
name,When the game is over, If one or both manage the high score table
then you will be able to save to disk, There will be a prompt before
hand for you to make sure your disk is not write protected,

The game will happily work on a half meg machine with no restrictions
It doesn`t even have to be in an Auto Folder, But if you do want it to
Auto Boot then make an Auto Folder from the desktop and simply copy the
PRG into it,

There is not much else I can say about the game itself, Its really
self explainatory, But once run, On the options screen there is a HELP
option with a little info,

Pressing P at anytime during the game will PAUSE, Pressing UNDO
will abort the game and revert you back to the Intro Screen,
The whole Program is JOYSTICK controlled,

A word of warning !!!!*!!, If you quit this game and goto the
desktop, Then decide to run it again, Then the Joystick may not work,
A simple cold boot will remedy this ( Switch Computer off for 5 sec )
and don`t just press Reset, This is due to the Twin Joystick Drive being
called, Although I have switched it off in the program at quit,
Sometimes only a Cold boot will do, This is not a bug!, It's a way of
life,

So the question was, Why another Pacman clone, Well truthfully I did
not start out to make a Pacman type Game, I was experimenting with the
prospect of getting two versions of the same play area to run on the
screen ie: Split screen, But I needed something to experiment with, So i
found some old Pacman sprites and used them, Well the experiment grew
and grew until I could see an half decent game appearing, So with the
help of Auld Bastid who did ALL the artwork Multi Player PAKMAN was born
Also whilst making this game I was sent a copy of MRS MUNCHIE
programmed by W, DYTMIRE, I had heard of this game before, It was
labelled as a very good Pacman clone (!), It wasnt, I read the very long
doc file that came with the game and down near the bottom of this file
written by W DYTMIRE was "Does anyone write anything good in STOS"
Well Mr DYTMIRE "This is STOS","Eat your heart out mate!"

This game is Public Domain, Therefore you can do what you want with
it, From now on I will be releasing all future games under the banner of
STOSSER SOFTWARE, So if you like this game then keep your eye open for
the name, The name STOSSER is mine, YOU may NOT use it on your work, It
may only be used by myself and STOSSER DISKZINE,

Both myself and the Artsist Auld Bastid are members of STOSSER
diskzine, The only monthly STOS diskzine available from all good pdl's
on the 20th of EVERY month,

If for some reason you want the source to this game then all you have
to do is ask, There is no charge for it, But I do not want to be out of
pocket, Therefore you must supply the disk and return postage, Stick some
p.d. on the disk ( Preferably STOS related ) and I will fill the disk I
will return it the next day with as many goodies as I can, The source
for this game is not that well remmed, But then again its not that big,

I hope you enjoy this game...........
