In the year 2153 the worlds enviroment
is destroyed by nuclear contamination.
All DNS-codes were lost in the  global
Computercrash  2148.  The only way  to
reconstruct the flora and fauna of the
earth, is to reach out for the back-up
wich  was  stored in a  perfect hiding
place : 2000  feet underground  in the
gigantic  worst-case-proofed   shelter
               M.A.M.A.

In  reaction to the  mutation  of some
live forms  and the hunting  for them,
secure   places   like   M.A.M.A   are
prefered  homes of the  Zorks,  a very
aggressive humanoid  bullbrain mutant.

The  Global Continuum Federation GCF`s
Extraordinary Services  Agency built a
Crisis Comission to evaluate a team of
pioneers to send them down to M.A.M.A.

Fritz  Meier,  Deborah  Jones,   Mario
Sanchez and Peter Brent  are the names
of the members of this team while they
are all specialists in combat and well
known as great fighters.United they`re
the Devensive Alien Remoting Command :

              D.A.R.C.

The  future of the world  depends  on
this four heros. Let us hope the best
for them. History is not written yet!

DARC  is the one  and  only  doomclone
( - I guess.  If there`s  another one,
send it to  me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
wich  runs  on  a  poor  ST1040   with
Color-Monitor and 1MB of RAM.

You  can  play  it  with  the Joystick
but  it is also  possible  to  control
with the keyboard.

DARC  comes  to  you  as Freeware. You
can  register your  copy of  Mission 1
(somehow  its  also  shareware).  This
will  size   up  the   possibility  of
a further mission very much!

If  DARC1.ZIP  is  allready extracted,
double-click   on  DARC.PRG.   If  you
got  problems with the  controls, then
press  the  Help-key during  the game.

If there  are  some  incompatibilities
and  the  program  crashes  after  the
intro-sequence, then  try to start it,
like this:  press  the left mouse from
the  moment on, when the DARC-Stonebar
appears.  This will bypass the loading
of the Percussiontask (wich isn`t very
proper).

About Atari, god and the world...

Well, it is late 96 and I`m
happy to be able to present you
this piece of game. I am a little
bit sad because of the strange
silence around Atari. Is the scene
still alive? Am I the last
ST1040-user in the world? Isn`t
there any other ST-owner who wants
to keep the scene alive?
I am not shure.

That`s why, I present this game
as a Beta-Version. Send me a
letter, write, what you think
about DARC and if I should go on
with it and with other ST-Games.

If I will receive a good feed-
back, I will fix all the little
bugs in DARC. To registred users
I will send Mission 2 as soon as
possible. It can be registred
again, wich motivates Mission 3
to come along  a.s.o.

know that you have to

After the production of EQUALIZER
wich runs with a pseudo-3D-engine,
I wished to generate a real one.
Parts of the EQU-Design are used
again in DARC (Colors, Dawn)
but all in all it`s a complete new
game.

There are still a few bugs in
DARCs grafic 3D-engine. You
might say "This isn`t perfect!"
but let me tell you that I really
enjoy the game and that it`s
exactly the prog I was allways
surching for and that it`s fun.(yes!)
And one thing, wich the most of you
do never think about:To write a game,
this takes two nights.To fix a tricky
bug, it takes two weeks!




However, ATARI(&clones) FOREVER!!!
