                               COLLAPSE (1.1)

The program COLLAPSE.PRG requires the file COLLAPSE.DAT and
should also be accompanied by this file COLLAPSE.TXT.

Blocks fall in groups of three. The object is to line up three or
more of the same type in horizontal, vertical or diagonal rows.
When this occurs the blocks dissolve and any remaining blocks
above collapse downward.

Start the game with the F1 key. Exit the game with Escape or
Undo. Before the game starts pressing the space bar will toggle
the block design from bars to letters and back. The design type
is shown at the lower right side of the screen.

You maneuver the block group by the right, left and down arrow
keys, or you can use the J, K, L keys. The left arrow or J moves
blocks left, the right arrow or L moves blocks right. The down
arrow or K changes the order of blocks in the three group that is
falling. The space bar can be used to drop the group immediately.

The fall rate of the blocks increases slightly every 1.5 minutes.
So the faster you can drop them with the space bar the more time
you will have to think before they speed up.

Points are scored for block eliminated as follows: 30 points for a
row of 3 blocks, 70 points for a row of 4 blocks, 120 points for
a row of 5 blocks. In addition 20 points are scored for every
each block eliminated above 5 in a collapse even if they are not
aligned. So the more you knock out at once the better score you
make.

SCORE shows the score for the current game. BLOCKS shows the
number of blocks eliminated for the most recent fall. MOST shows
the largest number of blocks eliminated on a fall. TOTAL shows
the total number of block eliminated during the game.

A high score file is maintained so you must have your disk
unwrite protected in order for the file to be updated.

The program was made in GFA basic 3.07 and may be distributed
freely providing it is accompanied by this text file.

I hope you have a spectacular collapse!
