CHUNNEL is a French - English word
game that is fun and easy to play,
either on your own or against an
opponent.
In these days of closer European
co-operation it is vital that we
learn more of each others'
languages and are able to
communicate with the rest of
Europe.
CHUNNEL will teach you the
essential vocabulary you need to
get beyond the 'plume de ma tante'
stage.
Combine it with regular reading
of French newspapers and books,
to be found in most public
libraries, and you will be
surprised at how easy it is to
understand the way the French say
things.
This public domain version of
CHUNNEL comprises over 2700 French
words and their English equivalent.
When you have mastered these, send
for a version of over 8000 words
(including all the words on this

useful game to play until you have
fully mastered a huge part of the
French language.

To play, place the disk in the disk
drive and reboot.
The options screen will enable you
to choose ;
- the grade you wish to play at
1, 2, or 3)
- the number of players (1 or 2),
- the mode (French to English or
English to French).
Click on your left mouse key over
the three options and then click
on the 'OK' sign.
Each game consists of 50 words
which will be loaded into memory
from disk.
You have five optional answers to
choose. Click in the box of your
choice.
If you are correct a bell will
sound ; if not the correct answer
will be revealed.
If playing against an opponent, the
screen will prompt you to take
turns. The score is always shown as
a percentage (e.g 2 correct out of
4 will show 50, 40 correct out of
50 will show 80).
There is no limit to the number of
games in a session. As well as your
last game score you are shown your
session score, again as a
percentage.
In between each game you have the
chance to guess a word from the
French / English equivalent with
certain letters missing.
If you enjoy this approach
