                AUTORAMA

              Arcade Game
for the Atari ST and STE series
    with colour display and joystick
              (in port 1)

           Copyright (c) 1990

              Objective

The object of the game is to drive an
automobile around a maze, collecting
flags, whilst avoiding other cars
chasing you, before your fuel runs out,
and to attain as high a score as
possible.

         Loading Instructions

Having inserted the supplied disk into
drive A and turned on the computer, the
program will automatically load. When
loading is completed, the title screen
is displayed. Leave the disk write
enabled (the plastic tab should cover
the hole) so that the game can record
your high scores.

          Playing instructions

Press the fire button to start game.
Drive the car in Northerly, Southerly,
Easterly and Westerly directions using
the joystick. Points are scored during
each of sixteen levels, ranging from
novice to hot shot. Flags are collected
by driving over them. One of the flags
is a fuel bonus flag, and automatically
replenishes your fuel. The chasing cars
are avoided by trapping them in smoke
screens (released by pressing the fire
button), which remain for a short time.
Once the ten flags are found, that level
has been completed and the game
automatically moves onto the next level.
The second and subsequent levels are
made more difficult by the appearance of
boulders which obstruct your passage.

If you are caught by a chasing car or if
you run out of fuel you lose a life.
This is signified by an "explosion". You
have five lives to start. The game ends
when all five lives are lost.

The score is displayed continuously
underneath the frame, along with
remaining fuel, number of remaining
flags to be collected, level number, and
number of lives left.

Once the game is complete, if you have a
score high enough, you may enter your
name for posterity on the high score
table which is then saved to disk.

Have fun...
