This version is actually called Bugs UK and is a special version by Dave Munsie just for ST Review magazine. I will send zip of the missing dump files.

This is a great little centipede clone but in my opinion much better! It had a boss every few levels and the game goes on for ever getting infinitely harder. it had powerups and many kinds of critters that would try to stop you.

is there any way to dump a rom of it on here?

Sure, have a look at the USA-version :)

Cheers,
Atarimania ST team

This version of BUGS is available for use only on the ST REVIEW cover disk.
If you would like a PD version of BUGS please write.

Documentation for BUGS_UK.TOS.

BUGS_UK.TOS - A re-vamped version of the popular Centipede game!

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

BUGS_UK requires at least 512K of memory and a color monitor. Control
is by joystick.

LOADING BUGS_UK:

To load BUGS_UK.TOS all you have to do is double click your mouse on
BUGS_UK.TOS. Don't worry if you're in medium res because BUGS_UK will
change to the proper resolution if needed. Heck, the program will even
return you to the proper resolution after you exit the program.

HOW TO PLAY BUGS_UK:

BUGS is very easy to play. Use your joystick to move your shooter around
the screen. Press fire to launch a missile at the various bugs crawing
all over the screen. There are several things available that you can shoot
to help clear the bugs. See the info screen for a explanation of them.
( HINT! - Clear the boss levels to get some tasty new icons. )

TECHO-TALK:

BUGS was written in GFA BASIC 3.5e using the GP_GRAPHICS ENGINE available
soon from DSA. For those of you who program you should be pleased to note
that a decent multiple object game can now be written from BASIC running
at a frame rate of 17-25 fps. (Frames per second) BUGS does slow down to
17 frames a second when the DDT's are exploding. This could be caused by
global programing instead of hard wiring the code. Still the game is a
decent blast no matter what langauage eh?

Programmers note: All GP_GRAPHICS ENGINE sprites are 4 bit plane with
auto masking and auto clipping. Just incase you were wondering.

I still havn't heard from you!!! That's right! After two published games
in ST REVIEW I still havn't received any feedback from programmers or game
players over seas. (I'm in the USA) You know why? Because I forgot to
print my address in the DOC files!!! If you want to talk about programming
or have any game ideas or graphics PLEASE write or call. By the time you
read this the GP_GRAPHICS ENGINE just might be available. Feel free to
contact your local ST DEALER. Address their comments to me if needed.

Current GP_GRAPHICS ENGINE GAMES available:

EVADER - SHOOT EM UP
KID_GP - PLATFORM FUN
MRS.MUNCHIE - MS.PACMAN AT ITS BEST
MEGAPEDE - MILLIPEDE CLONE
KID_KONG - DONKEY KONG (THE DEFINITIVE VERSION)
INVADERS - CLASSIC SPACE INVADER ACTION WITH ARMADA ANIMATION
INSECTROID - GALAGA TYPE

Games to look for soon:

MEGASPACE (Follow up to EVADER) - We're going all out on this one folks!
HERMAN (Follow up to KID_GP)
DROPIX (Tetris type but much more)
CYBERDRIOD (Smash TV type)

HOT SOFTWARE I'VE CHECKED OUT IN THE PD/SHAREWARE ARENA:

VIOLENCE! - Excellent game! Highly reccomend this one.
CYBERNETIX - Good graphics. 50hz animation. Defender type.
HARDCORE DEMO - What can I say? Jeff Minter keeps going and going and...
SLUGS! (STOS) - Very impressed by the programming more than the game.
RAYOIDS - Asteroids and more over the modem! 50hz animation!!

STUFF THAT WAS ALL HYPE:

FLOID THE DROID - I know it's old but all the PD suppliers say how good
this thing is. I tried it and deleted it.

Well, until next time!!
