INSTRUCTIONS

The current version of E-Backup is currently unable to split up files whose
size exceeds the capacity of a single backup medium. Thus the programs
SPLIT and MERGE are provided which in reality are only a compromise. In the
next version of E-Backup, this process will be handled automatically.

SPLIT.TTP can generate several small files from a larger one. The source
file will be split 1:1 with no other information saved.
Usage: Split [Source file] [Size] [Destination file (without extension)]
For example, when run you enter:-
"E:\PHOENIX\QUIZ.IND 720000 E:\DATA\QUIZ, the file QUIZ.IMD will be split
up into several files of 720Kb in size called QUIZ.001, QUIZ.002, .... etc.
that are written to the directory E:\DATA.

MERGE.TTP is an identical program that can reconstruct the original file
from the ones created by SPLIT. All of the source files (from *.000 to
*.999) must be placed in the same directory.
Usage: Merge [First source file (without .000 extension)] [Destination file
WITH extension]

SPLIT and MERGE are supplied as part of the EBACKUP package and together
with this text may be copied freely.
