Practical Uses

In 1987 Pro Sound Designer was used with a team led by director Elliot Stein in a new stage show in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival entitled 'The Ballad Of Halo Jones', which was based on the popular series from 2000 AD Comics.
Unique to the show it featured an extensive use of computerized special effects, all being produced with the Atari ST and a four-track tape recorder. According to producers it performed remarkably well, allowing the editing of a surprisingly versatile choice of sound samples and effects without consuming an unreasonable amount of valuable time in doing so.
