        WIZARD OF WAR

THIS IS A PRE-RELEASE OF WIZARD OF WAR!
IT'S A beta-TEST-VERSION. IF YOU FINDS BUGS, REPORT THEM.
 THE SOONER THE BETTER.
If YOU HAVE SUGGESTIONS TO MAKE THINGS BETTER, REPORT THEM TOO.

This pre-release is public domain. This means: spread it,
copy it, but do always copy it together with this text.
You are not allowed to charge any money for it.

Wizard of War by Florian Dingler

This is a remake of the classical Wizard of Wor, released in
the beginning eighties by Roklan Corp. We know, there are a lot
of people who loved to play that one on their XLs and C64s.
No conversion for the AMIGA or ST was ever made; O.K. there
was Gauntlet, but that was too complicated, with food and elves
and ... and ...
I decided to make a version on my own. As it is a remake, some
features are different from the original version, e.g. the Worluk
vanishes after a given time. He's also capable of disappearing through
the doors at any time. You can't destroy bullet shot by the monsters
(like in `real' life). The algorithm which moves the monsters is
different. There's no Wizard yet. And, after the eigth level the game
always ends (I haven't had time to make more levels by now).
Can you out there in the world send me the original levels ? Just copy
them from the screen to a piece of paper on to ASCIItext and send them
to me. Mail and email addresses to be found below.
Remember, this version is for looking and testing only. You won't have
too mch funplaying it, but I think it's fine to see how WIZARD looks.
So now, play it. It runs in low-res only. Plug yer joysticks in.

      Reboot, play.

          Don't read on. Play it!

You did ?

O.K. You liked it ? With no wizard and no sound ? I bet you didn't.

If you like to see a version with sound and wizard, drop me a line.
If the alltogether response is big enough, I'll release a shareware-
version with better graphics and sound and wizard. So until then, you'll
have to be happy with the pre-release.
