INSTRUCTIONS
THE HOBBIT - Atari ST (16-bit edition)
=======================================
DISK 1 : HOBBIT.PRG + 16-bit art for title and locations 1-17
DISK 2 : 16-bit art for locations 18-39
DISK 3 : 16-bit art for locations 40-61
DISK 4 : 16-bit art for locations 62-79
The game shows each room's picture in full 16-bit colour if it can find it
next to itself (in HOBBIT\IMAGES); if not, it falls back to the faithful ZX
Spectrum look for that room. So it "just works" whether every picture is
present or only some are - nothing to configure, and no disks to swap while
playing.
BEST: INSTALL TO A HARD DISK (every room in 16-bit)
1. Copy the whole HOBBIT folder from DISK 1 to your drive (e.g. C:\HOBBIT).
2. Copy the files inside HOBBIT\IMAGES on each other disk into that same
C:\HOBBIT\IMAGES folder (merge - keep the ones already there).
3. Run C:\HOBBIT\HOBBIT.PRG.
PLAYING FROM FLOPPY (no hard disk)
Run \HOBBIT\HOBBIT.PRG from DISK 1. The locations whose art is on that disk
show in 16-bit; the rest fall back to the classic Spectrum look. No swapping.
GAME MODES (press O on the title, or F12 in play -> Game mode)
ZX Spectrum : the faithful 1982 look, every location.
Atari ST : the 16-bit artwork.
