INSTRUCTIONS

Welcome to A WINTERS TALE (Better late than never !), this is Dizzy Lizzy 2
and features the following:

The same addictive game play that made the original such a hit.
40 more levels, that are, or should be harder than the original.
 New graphics.
Transporters so you can move around the levels quicker.
Doors that can only be opened by flicking a switch.
R.I.P stones are left when you die, and could halt your progress.
 Bigger high score table.
Uses JOYSTICK or KEYBOARD to play.
 Brilliant vector graphics.
 Some really crap scrollers.

As the graphics have been changed I think it would be a good idea to go
through the blocks....

Earth - You collect this, stops snow balls falling etc.

Snow balls - used to be boulders, these kill if they fall on you
they can be pushed around, they roll off rounded walls
              and parcels.

Parcels - used to be diamonds, you need to collect all the parcels on the
level before you can go on to the next level.

Wall Sections - used to be wall sections, you can't move through them.

Christmas puddings - once they were bombs, if they fall they explode
you do get about five moves, they explode like this

                            #
                           ###
                          #####
                           ###
                            #

where the pudding explodes, dark wall sections appear, they can block
off routes, and trap parcels, if you get caught then you lose a life !!

Safes - used to be safes, you will need to collect a set of keys to unlock
the safes and gather the parcels hidden within.

Keys - Needed to unlock the safes.

Snow man - Used to be Wayne ( as in Wayne Booth the lad from school!)
when you are not moving he will creep up on you, if you hit him
           then you lose a life!!

Crackers - Were once sticks of dynamite, these kill on contact so beware!

Transporters - these are completely new, you use them by first moving onto
one, and then pressing the fire button, you will then be
magically transported to the other transporter on the level.

Doors - these are also new , they are blue, and can't be passed through. To
open the door you need to move onto the switch and press fire. You
can open and close the door as many times as you like, if thats what
        you're into !

Ice - same as the original, once you move onto the ice you slide until you
either hit a rebounder, or hit a cracker, or you run out of ice.

Cakes and stocking - these are collectables - just gets you points.

To speed the game up I have removed the score from the top border, so now to
see the score you have to press a key, doing this displays the STATUS SCREEN
apart from the score, you are also told what level you are currently on, how
many lives you have left, how many diamonds you need to collect, and what piece
of music is playing.
A winters tale features 4 Christmas tunes, which are accessed by pressing M
when you are on the status screen, you are then shown a menu of tunes, press
the corrosponding number and the game continues with the new music playing.

when on the STATUS SCREEN you can press S to turn disc save on and off. When
off the high scores will NOT be saved to disc.

I suppose I better tell you the keys for playing the game.

Z and X are left and right.
' and / are up and down.
SPACE is fire.

I know by the time you read this (its now 23 December 1990), that Christmas
will have come and gone, but who cares, by playing this game you can keep the
spirit of christmas alive all year round.
I must appologise for the fact that this game was released a bit too late to
hit the christmas rush but there was nothing I could do.

I better also warn you about some BUGS and stuff:

When entering your name you will notice a letter appear in the to left hand
side of the screen - please take no notice.

The ERROR TRAP doesn't want to work,so when and error does occur it just
sits there with some rather nifty vectors spinning around.

and now the COMPETITION !!!!

IF AND WHEN YOU COMPLETE THIS GAME YOU WILL BE SHOWN 5 WORDS, WRITE THEM
DOWN AND THE FIRST ONE TO SEND ME THE CORRECT WORDS WILL RECIEVE FREE
OF CHARGE A RATHER TASTY THB T-SHIRT (AND I MEAN REALLY TASTY!), AND WILL BE
FAMOUS FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES.

I think that is enough so this me Eddie saying good night and may your loins
be forever fruitful.

Eddie 23121990 ah-YEAH!..............
