               Documentation for Demonstration Version

This demo will allow you full access to the first level of the game
and also WARP to the second level, where it will abort.

It will run in either Lo or Med-rez, but looks and plays best in
Lo-rez! All sixteen colors are available in Medium rez, but the
ordering is based on the AES rather than VDI setcolor structure.

Required hardware is:

      TOS 1.2 or higher
      512 RAM
Will run from a floppy, but HD is recommended
File SCANNERS.DAT must be in same directory as DEMOCAP.PRG
      Mouse must be online
Joystick must be in port 2

Upon running, the initial screen will allow you the option of
bypassing the credits and story screens. If you elect to bypass the
credits, you will go directly to the main game screen where you may
select either a male or female character. This screen will also make
you familiar with the various objects and antagonists pertinent to the
game.

Primary control is via the joystick. Fire button will move you to the
first planet of the first galaxy of play.

Once in the gamescreen scenarios, you may use the keyboard letter 'c'
to activate the cloaking clock at the bottom of the screen. This will
give you full invulnerability for a brief time. Use it wisely. In
the 'real' grame, there are clocks located throughout the galaxies
that will restore this device. Life span is determined by the
decreasing time located in the upper left corner of the screen. This
can be restored to a maximum of 999 seconds by accumulating various
energy objects and shields. There is a special object located
throughout the galaxies that will restore you to FULL LIFE and this
should be used wisely - such as when you are nearly dead!

The object is to accumulate as much life force and as many laser
charges as you can while distroying the bad guys and negotiating the
mazes of the planets. You must find a WARP ZONE in each galaxy that
will transport you to the next galaxy.

Secondary control via the keyboard includes the space bar
which will toggle the 'freeze' feature on and off. It is recommended
that every time you move from one planet to another, you freeze the
screen and study the layout so you can determine the best path around
enemies and onto the next planet. Also, you want to locate the best
ways to acquire the 'helpful' objects on the planet!

In the 'real' game, there are regular 'space stations' located amoung
the galaxies where you may spend your accumulated wealth on energy and
lasers, so don't pass up the space bucks...

UPON RUNNING THE DEMO, if you elect to hold the left button, you will
get to run thru the startup credit screens and the story, which
establishes the plot of the game and better outlines the characters.

When this credit section is done, the demo will abort to the desktop.
It is recommended that you run it first, anyway, to better appreciate
the game.
