l'Abbaye des Morts ------------------ A Locomalito game Falcon conversion by Jo Even Skarstein / joska 2020-2026 This release is identical to the 2020 release, except for improved sound quality. When I developed this game I was not aware of the fact that the YM chip sound output on the Falcon goes via the ADC/DAC, which means that the DMA sample rate affects the YM sound quality. In this game I use DMA sound effects at 12.5KHz - so the YM is also sampled and played at this frequency. This does Skuggemannen's excellent tunes injustice, as the YM sounds "muffled" at this frequency. In this version the sound effects are upsampled to 25KHz and the DMA sample/replay speed adjusted accordingly. This improves the sound quality a lot. I also tested 50KHz, but the difference was very small to my aging ears and not worth the RAM usage. joska@online.no February 2026
