Lives for both players is stored at $741A. The VAPI disk download here can't be cheated this way because it is encrypted, need to start with a "cracked" copy. CHEAT MODE unlimited lives, find the sequence $"CE 1A 74" then change the one byte $CE to become $AD. CHEAT MODE many lives, if you're feeling too sportsmanlike for unlimited, find the sequence $"A9 05 8D 1A 74" and change the one byte $05 to become the number desired for both one and two players.
