Interestingly, it appears that this game was written by Steve "Fort Apocalypse" Hales and William "Shamus" Mataga... not apparently their typical style of game at all then!

I remember reading early previews of this in Antic magazine. It was apparently meant to compete with Infocom's large dominance in the text game market. If I remember right, it was billed as being the next generation of text adventures, with a large encompassing story and an excellent parser. Antic gave it a lot of ecstatic praise. Unfortunately, when the final product was released, so much of it was stripped down for the mass home market, the review was utterly disappointing. The original work-in-progress used two disk drives, something most people didn't have in those days! And not everyone had the souped-up systems that the programmers had, so a lot of the game's scope and sophistication was unfortunately whittled down.
