My father wrote this game when I was a little kid. He did it in his spare time, as this was just a hobby of his (he didn't even work in the IT industry at the time) and it coupled with his love of WWII history. I remember he spent hours at the library making photocopies of the WWII profile photos of the ships. He then drew a handmade grid over the photocopies to carefully render each photo to a scaled and accurate pixelated version of the historical ships. So in the game, every pixel matches to some feature on the actual historical ships. My mother helped with proofreading and some of the writing for the manual. The splash screen was made and added by the publisher. We used to have boxes of these games in our basement for years. I think the are all sold or given away by now.

Frankly I don't understand all this enthusiasm for this game ... there is no tactic, the resolution of the fighting is completely elementary ... too elementary! I understand that this is a game over 30 years ago ... but from that era, on the same subject as the Battle of Midway, there would be "Carrier Force". Even if playing against the computer only takes the part of the Americans, I like it a lot more.

This is a great game, but a rare find! Is there any ST roms of it out there? It was a challenge to play in the day, and each ship graphic is meticulously rendered from the original ships of WWII.

This game is very very good. Graphics are crisp but spartan, but for the day good. The graphics for the ships are each diferent and very close to the historic ships. Good simulator of the Battle! I would love to play this game again!
