Aaaaah. brings back the fond memories, when families like mine (me and my parents) met other ones and we all spent some very good time playing board games.. We - the kids - typically switched to computer (as all those evenings progressed) - and this one was definitely one we spent a lot of time with ;-)

I believe this is a computer adaptation of the boardgame Borderlands by Eon. The boardgame is set to be rereleased in a year or so (date of post September 2012).
