It would be great to play this one again. Was fun way back when...

This game is frustrating me now. I am in Camelot. When I go to Merlin's Hideout I try to use the fire spell to pass and I still can't pass. I have the sorcerer with me too. I thought it was because I don't have the Ring of Power which the manual says is in Camelot but I've investigated every screen more than once and cannot find it. Do you have to have a certain amount of gold in your possession to trigger finding it? The manual says you can win King Arthur's blessing with gold. Or is this a glitch? Any suggestions?

Despite the insane amount of bugs and some very screwed up moments where you ask "what was the designer thinking?", this was one of the best games I've played on the 8-bit Atari. A six disk adventure with armies of warriors to build up and a huge amount of exploration scattered throughout themed lands full of treasure and peril. I'm actually playing this again on an emulator using a faster speed to move the action along.
