ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Created by the CBS engineering team and internally called The Ed Box, this device was designed to showcase upcoming CBS Electronics for the VCS on the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) floor in an efficient and futuristic way. Inside each Ed Box was a custom ROM switching system, allowing the CBS sales staff to change games running on an Atari 2600 at the press of a button. No need to swap cartridges, just select and play. The box connected via ribbon cable to a special adapter cartridge inserted into the VCS console. While multiple units powered various demo stations at the CBS booth on the Internattional Winter CES in 1983, only this one remains, still populated with its original EPROMS.
