The attract mode is fully playable – you can move and shoot freely, and it will even 'end' just as a normal game would (running out of bullets, or getting shot too many times).
Two versions of this game exist. The second version fixed the following bug in the original version: instead of using an immediate value (prefixed by #), a zeropage address was used.
The first release of Gangster Alley from Spectravision carried a different type of end label.
