Paul Stevenson designed Aztec originally for Apple computers. Not sure if he programmed the 800 version.

Really cool animation. Amazingly, all commands are controlled with the joystick. I can go up stairs, blow up dynamite, jump over hazards...etc.

A fairly entertaining early action game, clearly inspired by Raiders of the Lost Ark. The use of graphics was pretty clever, so you got to face adversaries like a T-Rex, a killer octopus, and other unpleasant creatures and things. Timing was always essential in jumping and running. Otherwise you usually fell down in a daze, usually causing you time or health points if attacked! Using weapons also required some timing or you got done in, too. It had a sense of humor. If you used up all your health, it would end with a "You did not make it."

I had a lot of fun with this game. The graphics are strange--they seem to be mods of the character set rather than the P-M stuff I'm used to.

It's possible to break the game. If you toss dynamite downwards in rapid succession, often times the stick will stop in mid-air and your dynamite count will become essentially infinite.
