A very solid translation of the all-time arcade classic, this Ms. Pac-Man however suffers from slower speed and a slight stutter in its movements. The colors are slightly changed from the 800 cartridge, this is the only difference that I could find.
Given the 2024 available dev tools for the ATARI 8-bit, Zeppelin's version of STAR WARS could be revisited with, at least, a better frame rate. I wonder if Vektor Grafix (who also converted the game for the other platforms on the behalf of Domark) shared their source code with Zeppelin or if it was coded entirely from scratch.
Shouldn't the title be "Heathcliff: Fun with Spelling" instead of just "Fun with Spelling"?
Somewhat better than the Parker Brothers version, because it's truer to the arcade and the graphics, gameplay and the feel of the arcade original are done okay here.
Still, the controls are inverted, but work quite well and it seems like there is everythingh here from the coin-op.
But the biggest problem is of course the performance which gets really choppy during the phase 2 with the ground turrets, and the towers section gets really tough, and also phase 3 is the same, but easier.
Could have been done better, but it's an okay game that's worthy of a C+ grade.
A very average conversion, it kind of tries to mimic the graphics and the gameplay of the arcade, but it misses some features like the ground turrets at the wave 2, and the controls are inverted.
But it's a functional game with somewhat functional controls and ity has all the three phases, but they don't feel all that complete.
Overall grade: C-
An excellent version with a better colour palette and good controls is what makes me appreciate this Atari 8-bit conversion more than the Atari 2600 version.
This is definitely my favourite game for the system and nothing can top it! (In my opinion)
Rather unique game. Get the clubs before they turn into hogs!
Not bad for a magazine entry Pleasantly silly.
Thank you charlechaplin for the info!??
The Parker Bros series received some negative reviews: that graphics were poor, game was too hard, and
"Just a poor Moon Patrol!"

But, there's a lot to like for an early 80's game.
This was the first 007 licenced game. That opening animated scene with the Bond music had to be impressive back then. And 4 different missions in a small file is also impressive.
Recommended!
This is actually Accion V2, since the first version was programmed in TB XL and somewhat slower...
