INSTRUCTIONS

This  is  a  3 disc set containing images in .TN3  format  on  the 
subject of the Home Front in the 2nd World War.

The images come mainly from newspapers of the war  years,  1939-45 
and  give a real flavour and idea of what life in wartime  Britain 
was like.

The images may be viewed using the ARTGALLERY pd programme on disc 
A.  This  disc  also contains the TCOS pd  database.  To  run  the 
programme  click  on the file TCOS.PRG.  When  the  main  database 
programme  is loaded select the file WAR.SYS and load it into  the 
database.  The  WAR.SYS file contains a description of  the  image 
files,  a  brief account of life on the Home Front and details  of 
how  the  teaching  of the 2nd World war fits  into  the  National 
Curriculum (England) for history.

The  image files were scanned using the Golden Image hand  scanner 
and retouched using Touch Up and Canvas art packages.

I  hope that this disc set will prove useful to  teachers,  pupils 
and those just interested in the history of this period.
