                   THE TILE GAMES (VERSION 2)

The object of this game is similar to the usual 'slide the tiles'
puzzle. (ie to get the tiles back in a certain order) The
difference with this couple of puzzles is the shape of the puzzle
board. The figure of eight shape makes for more interesting
solutions to the problem.

Control is with the mouse. Simply get the pointer on to the tile
you want to move and press the left key.

THE EIGHT PUZZLE

The object here is to rearrange the tiles so they are in sets of
three colours (ie red-red-red blue-blue-blue etc.) Since the
initial position of the tiles is totally random, each puzzle has
its own individual solution. This is the simpler of the two
puzzles, and should be practised before advancing to the 'ALPHA'
puzzle.

THE ALPHA PUZZLE

The object in this case is to rearrange the tiles so they are in
alphabetical order!! It can be done, though I have not completed
it so far.

CREDITS

The game originated from a book 'PUZZLE IT OUT' by John Ewing and
Czes Kosniowski.

The game was written entirely by me in the legendary STOS and a
basic file 'TILEGAME.BAS' is included to allow investigation of
the games construction (of course you will need a copy of STOS to
do this).

The file 'TILE_V2.PRG' is a runtime version, and is STE
compatible.

                                   Good luck
