INSTRUCTIONS
A revival of the classic Atari GEM port, updated to NetHack 5.0 and cross-compiled from Linux with the m68k-atari-mint toolchain against E_GEM 2.2. Requirements Atari ST-class machine (ST, STE, Mega ST/STE, TT, or Falcon) with at least 6 MB of RAM GEM AES (TOS, MagiC, or FreeMiNT / XaAES) 640×480 with 16 colours minimum (VGA-class video) Known to work Hatari with TOS 2.06 (ST) and TOS 3.06 (TT) MagiC 6.2 under MagiCMac (classic Macintosh) MagiC under magic-on-linux Currently known not to work EmuTOS (to be investigated) Installation Unzip into a folder on Atari, then double-click nethack.prg. The archive is self-contained: GEM application, packed game data, GEM dialog resources, tile sheets for 1/4/5-plane displays, splash and tombstone images, default nethack.cnf, and empty levels/ and save/ directories. By default the game starts in tile mode. Press F2 to toggle between tiles and ASCII.
