INSTRUCTIONS
CYCLOTRON II ============ CYCLOTRON II is a similar game but now supports four players, each of which can be human- or computer- controlled. For three or four human players, you'll need a parallel port adaptor as supplied with commercial games such as Gauntlet II and DynaBlaster. When you load the game, the first thing you'll see is the selection screen. This shows portraits of the selected players and a text display of the settings. Game settings are changed using the function keys as follows: F1-F8. The odd keys (eg F1 for player 1) toggle each of the four players between human and computer. If a player is set to COMPUTER, the appropriate even key (F2 for player 1) selects the computer player. If the player is set to HUMAN, the even key will bring up a text cursor for you to edit the name. Backspace over the existing name, type the new one and press RETURN when finished. The computer players are taken from the original CYCLOTRON, and all have the same stats as in the original game, although I have made some small changes to the effects of those stats. Note that the game won't let you set two computer players to the same character. It WILL let you start a game with all four players under computer control. This is a good way to see how they react. Press F9 to select the number of wins required. A round is won by the last surviving player, and the game will continue round after round until one player reaches the target number. It is possible for a round to be drawn, if the last two players crash at the same time. In this case, no wins are awarded. After each round, a status screen shows how many wins each player has. Press F10 to start the game.
