I originally wrote CrissCross as another experiment with the ZeST
alternative interface (available on GEnie) but my friends kids were
having so much fun playing with it that I decided to release it as
freeware. CrissCross should run on all ST platforms with a mono monitor.

CrissCross is a hybrid of Gomuku, Go and Othello. You play against the
computer on a 20x18 grid of 360 squares. You and the ST take turns putting
down coloured markers and trying to get five in a row. When one of you is
successful in getting five diagonally, vertically or horizontally then
you will score 1 point and the five markers are removed from the grid.
The first player to get 10 points will win the game. You play black.
To place your marker simply point with the mouse and click once with the
left button. When it's the computer's turn, the "ZeST LOGO" flashes while
the ST is thinking. You may not place a tile on a square that is occupied.
You can take as long as you want to decide your move but once you have
placed your marker down there is no turning back. There are 3 skill levels:

                     Beginner........Easy and fast
                   Amateur.........Better but slower
                Expert.....Tough opponent but plays slow

Simply click the mouse within the LEVEL BOX to cycle through the
different options. You can even change difficulty levels in the middle
of play! If you want to restart a game then click within the CRISSCROSS
LOGO at the top of the screen. If you want to quit to the desktop then
click the right mouse button. Hit the HELP key to view the introductory
screen.

As with all of my freeware programs you use them at your own risk. Feel
free to copy them, give them to friends or upload them to local BBS's.

                                        Have fun!
