Memo

These documents are converted from the contents of Eric Smith's development hard disk, originally written in AtariWorks STW format.
Memo
To: Jon Correll
From: Eric Smith
Subj: Highlander Gouraud Shading and Texture Mapping
Date: June 15,1995
Cc: Craig Suko, Ted Tahquechi
Here, as you requested, is my evaluation of my conversation with Rob of Lore Design.
(1) The fax that Steve Mitchell sent to Ted contains a number of technical faults and oversights. It is
clear that the programmers at Lore have not had a lot of time to think about adding Gouraud shading
and texture mapping to the game.
(2) Rob asked the right questions during our conversation, and seemed to quickly grasp the necessary
concepts. Based on this and my earlier conversations with him while he was working on Checkered Flag,
I believe him to be a competent (but not outstanding) programmer.
(3) My conclusion, therefore, is that Lore is capable of completing the texture mapping and shading
work. However, I believe that it will take them longer than they estimate, and that they will require a
certain amount of hand-holding from us.
